Douglas McGinity, Partner

Douglas McGinity earned his law degree from Loyola University Law School in May 1999. He earned a liberal arts degree in Journalism/Mass Communication from Louisiana State University in 1994. He attended Saint Paul’s Catholic School in Covington, Jesuit High School, and DeLa Salle High School, graduating in the Class of 1985. Douglas McGinity served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Primary Marksmanship Instructor and Military Police Officer from 1987 through 1990, when he was honorably discharged.

Douglas McGinity has practiced civil and family law for eight years in Louisiana and has conducted numerous bench and jury trials throughout the state of Louisiana. Douglas McGinity primarily represented insurance companies for the first years of his law practice; and since opening and managing his own law firm in January 2003, he has maintained a primarily civil-plaintiff litigation and family law practice.

Richard J. McGinity, Partner

Richard J. McGinity graduated from Tulane University Law School in 1959 after earning a Tulane Business Administration (BBA) degree in 1957. For the past 55 years, Richard established a law practice in the New Orleans area dedicated in General Business Practice and Litigation.
In addition to his general practice, for 21 years, Richard also was the General Counsel for the Board of Commissioners of the Orleans Levee District which consisted of 350 employees and substantial real estate holdings including an Airport and several Mariners. His services as General Counsel also included advising the staff, the preparation and legal management of hundreds of contracts and real estate leases.

Prior to law school, Richard served in the United States Navy Air Corp, during the Korean War and after, where was attached to a squadron assigned to the Naval Air Station on North Island, California and later at Pensacola Naval Air Station. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1955. He is now of counsel to the McGinity Law Firm LLC.
